The government is keen for a wide range of people to engage in this debate the Regional Ministers are hosting. Visit the Commons Leader website for full information about the consultation process and how to let your voice be heard. The consultation period ends on 6 August 2008.
Minister for the South East, Jonathan Shaw, is particularly keen to bring a regional flavour to the national deliberations and to make sure that the concerns of those living and working in the South East are understood when decisions are made about where the Government should focus attention when preparing new legislation.
As well as urging those who live and work in the South East to respond to the consultation, he has hosted a number of events with different groups in the region during the consultation process, including representatives from:
- local authorities
- regional partners
- businesses
- the Voluntary and Community Sector
- young people, and
- interested members of the public
